We arrived at the NIH today for my sweet son's surgery to removed a hemangioblastoma and associated cyst from his brainstem. Dale and Steven flew in early this morning. I drove the twelve hour trip, sometimes crying from the absurdity of this, sometimes rocking out to "It's All About the Bass."
The surgery is scheduled for early on the 16th. The next two days will be filled with MRIs, blood tests, visits from different doctors and trips to my sisters house. We relish those trips to my sisters house, as they keep us sane in a time that we could easily fall off the ledge.
Pray for my sweet son. This is a horrific surgery for a horrific disease.
